Rock n Roll

November 2018 saw us take delivery of a brand new Scania roll on roll off lorry.

Tws Tippers Tunnels 15

The latest model from the new Scania XT range it stands ready to take on our toughest daily challenges. The XT range is a result of Scania’s heritage, timeless engineering and extensive field testing, creating vehicles robust and reliable like no others. Our XT is powered by the latest Euro 6 engine, which is tough enough for the job and at the same time economical. The XT range comes with a series of powerful design features making it perfect for off road use and extremely comfortable on the road too. Some of these features include:

  • Steel Bumper
  • Robust Mirrors
  • Under Cab Protection
  • Tough Suspension
  • Three Piece Anti-Roll Bars
  • Metal Headlight Protection
  • High Ground Clearance

We chose to spec this vehicle as a wagon and drag configuration so that we double our waste container carrying capacity but at the same time reducing our fuel usage and our carbon footprint. The lorry is capable of carrying 2 containers ranging from 15yd to 40yd each. The 3 axle trailer was built in Sheffield by A Cauldwell & Sons and will join our already established fleet of skip loader trailers.

With our distinctive yellow and green livery the Scania XT sports the registration number 40 YD.

Here are a few words from Dave Pryce the driver:

“It is a big improvement on the previous model; the dash layout has been vastly improved with more information available for the driver, it’s a lot more comfortable to drive with a much better seat, visibility is better with bigger mirrors & blind spot cameras, it also has plenty of power which is useful when pulling a fully laden trailer. The Hyva lifting equipment is really good too"
