Skip sizes guide

Our skip sizes range from four to 12 cubic yards which provide a very cost-effective way to dispose of bulky waste including furniture and garden waste. For a skip that will be placed on the road, there will be an extra charge of £50.00 (per week) added for a permit from the council. If a permit is required, it takes 3 days to obtain permission from the local authority so factor this in when you’re planning the hire of your skip.

To help you decide which size skip would be best for you, please refer to our waste skip sizes guide pages. We’ve included skip sizes in yards and skip capacity m3 to give you a good idea of what will fit in each skip.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a skip hire permit?

A skip permit grants you permission to place a hired skip on the public highway for an agreed length of time, without taking up too much space or impeding visibility at junctions.

These legal documents are required to control the number of skips left on the road at a particular time, helping to avoid parking issues, traffic and congestion in the local area. They also ensure the safety of pedestrians and other road users.

To obtain a permit for your skip hire in Westgate on Sea, you (or your chosen skip hire provider) will need to visit the local authority at least 3 days before you need the skip to be delivered and positioned on the road. If we acquire permission on your behalf, the additional fee will be added to the overall cost of your skip hire – allowing you to pay for it all in one go.

Without a permit, your hired skip can be removed without notice and you may be liable to pay a fine for not complying with stringent skip hire regulations.

How do I book skip hire in Westgate on Sea?

Ordering a skip in Westgate on Sea couldn’t be any simpler than it is here at TW Services!

The quickest and easiest option is to use our convenient online booking system. All you need to do is enter the postcode of your preferred delivery address, select the type of waste you have or expect your project to generate (i.e. mixed domestic waste, mixed construction waste or general waste) and let us know whether you intend to keep the skip on or off the road.

The next step is to choose a suitable skip size, bearing in mind the amount of space available on your driveway or the public highway and the volume of waste you need to get rid of.

Once you’ve done that, choose your delivery address from the dropdown menu and fill out your contact and billing details.

Before you pay for your skip hire in Westgate on Sea, you’ll be asked to pick a delivery date and time. You have the option to provide delivery instructions for our fleet driver, too (if applicable).

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to discuss your requirements over the phone, you’re more than welcome to arrange your skip hire by calling 01304 626 364. We highly recommend doing this if you’re unsure which skip size you need or if you have any questions regarding our skips and services.

What do I do when my hired skip is full?

As soon as you have filled your skip with waste, get in touch with the team at TW Services.

Even if you underestimated the amount of waste your project would produce and have materials left over, we urge you not to exceed the maximum fill level indicated around the outside of your skip.

Overloading your skip with waste will not only make it difficult for our team to lift onto the back of our lorries, but it will also compromise the health and safety of those on your site, as well as the general public. You may also incur a charge for not abiding by skip hire regulations in Westgate on Sea.

If you need to hire a second or third skip to accommodate the waste you’re left with, we will gladly deliver it to your site when we come to collect the full one.
