Hiring a skip might seem complicated, but with TW Services, it's quick, simple and cost-effective. Whether you're clearing your garden, renovating a home, or managing a construction site, here's how skip hire works from start to finish.

Step 1: Choose the Right Skip Size

TW Services offers a wide range of skip sizes to suit every type of job:

  • 4 to 12 yard skips – perfect for domestic and renovation waste

  • 20, 35, and 40 yard roll-on roll-off skips – ideal for large volumes and commercial projects

Not sure what size you need? Visit our skip hire size guide, or contact us now and our team will guide you based on your project and waste type.

Step 2: Book Online or Over the Phone

Booking a skip is simple. You can

We’ll confirm your skip size, placement location, and delivery time.

Step 3: Do You Need a Permit?

If the skip will be placed on private property (e.g. your driveway), no permit is needed.

If it needs to go on the public highway, we can help you apply for a local council permit. Just let us know in advance.

Step 4: Skip Delivery to Your Location

We deliver skips in a number of locations throughout Kent, including Thanet, Canterbury, Dover, and Deal. On delivery day, one of our professional drivers will:

  • Safely place the skip on your property or roadside

  • Ensure clear access

  • Provide tips on how to load efficiently

Step 5: Load Your Skip

You're free to start loading as soon as the skip arrives. You can dispose of:

Accepted waste:

  • Garden waste, wood, metal, bricks, rubble, general household waste, soil

Not accepted:

  • Tyres, fridges/freezers, asbestos, paint, oils, batteries, chemicals, hazardous waste

Always fill the skip no higher than the level load line. Overfilled skips may not be collected for safety reasons.

Step 6: Schedule Collection

Your skip will be collected on the arranged date, but we also offer flexible collection solutions like additional pick-ups to keep you clean and organised.

What Happens to Your Waste?

All skip waste is taken to our fully licensed waste transfer and recycling centre. We sort, recover and recycle as much material as possible through advanced systems, including our soil washing plant, helping us achieve our zero-to-landfill goal.
